Sails In The Sunset is a complete repainting of a very old work by Ivan Aivazovsky except that I have brightened the colors and tones, added a few extra things like ultra saturation and tonal contrast to bring a beautiful old work into the modern era making old art, often very forgotten, new again.

This is a very peaceful work despite me changing a few things, but it is also fresh and alive enough to grace a wall in your home.
I hope my dedication to the Russian-Armenian painter would very much meet with his approval.
I used a lot of mixed media in this work and completed a great deal of "smoothing" the canvas digitally to suit the sunset and calm seas.
